HillBilly : Shady Shallows (SS)
Named after a good friend who loves his shallow fishing and built to withstand anything that fishing shallow for carp can throw at it. These little gems are a mere 7 centimetres long and built on a super strong 1.5mm stem which also adds weight to the base of the float to reduce tangles. The stem passes through the balsa body and is secured inside the tough hollow plastic high visibility tip.
The already sealed and toughened body receives three coats of clear varnish and the float is finished off by the addition of a stainless steel spring eye to match the diameter of the chosen tip. These floats are at their best in depths of up to two and a half feet and best used by having any weight not needed to sink the bait directly under the float.
The choice of tip diameters enables the use of a wide range of baits and the heavy stem produces a fish attracting splash when the rig is "flipped" on to the surface. This float also doubles up as a margin float for very shallow margin swims.
Available in one size only (approx 3 x no10 shot or stotz) with a choice of 2 or 2.5mm dia tips in red or yellow. Priced at £2-20p each.

HillBilly : Ratcatcher 1
Have you ever wished that someone made a strong little float for fishing “up the rat holes” on the commercial Snake Lakes but which would double up as a float for fishing smaller baits up in the water ? Well let me introduce you to the Hillbilly Ratcatcher. I would back this float against anything else on the market for these tasks as I spent a lot of time coming up with what I think is the perfect solution. This Ratcher 1 (approx 3 x 11 stotz)has a 1mm glass stem passes right through the selected hard grade balsa body to support the 1.7mm diameter x 15mm long hollow high viz tip. A stainless steel spring eye fitted to the base of the tip completes this super tough little float which is available in both sizes with a choice of red or yellow tips......Priced at £2-20p each

HB Shady Shallows TOP TIP
These floats perform best when used with baits that do not come off the hook easily such as maggot, worm heads, meat and banded hard pellets. Using these baits lets you take full advantage of slapping your rig repeatedly to attract fish without fear of having to continually re bait.
HB - RAT CATCHERS
HB Rat Catchers TOP TIP
Excellent for "bottom" fishing in shallow far or nearbank swims but equally at home fishing smaller baits up in the water. Constant lifting and dropping of the bait will usually attract more bites than just leaving the rig still and waiting for a take.
